"Always on your side" improving your education, social life, and well being. We believe that school is much more than just education, and if we work together we can make this school an amazing place.
Currently, students at Stuyvesant Highschool are not allowed to wear earbuds or any form of headphones in the school. They aren’t allowed to wear them in case of emergency to listen to announcements. While this does hold some truth students should still be allowed to wear them during certain points or areas in the day. We think that some things should be changed about the headphone policy but also remain effective for when there are emergencies. Things such as only earbuds or only one earbud can be made so that students can still use their earbuds and work without causing any distractions and also listen to announcements.
Many students in the school take advantage of the fact that we can go outside during free periods. Overall, this is a great idea; a breath of fresh air is always a relief, especially after exams or tests! However, there is an issue: students can only go back into the building five minutes before the start of the next period. This can cause you to be late to class, stuck standing in the cold, and it can cause you to waste an entire break period when all you wanted was to get a slice of pizza. Since everyone is clustered on the bridge for so long, this could also be a danger because of the potential spread of COVID-19. We think this rule should be changed and at least extend the time before the next period to ten minutes instead of 5.
We care about the students' well being. Stuyvesant students were promised to only have 30 minutes of homework a night, but a lot of the teachers don’t follow this rule, sometimes unknowingly. We have opened a google form that you can fill out and we will personally email the teachers about your complaints. Or, you can come to us directly with your complaints.

Communication is a huge Issue at Stuyvesant especially for freshmen who are just transitioning into high school and in person learning. Students can benefit from communicating with their teachers and so they can receiving help if they need. Students could also benefit from better communicate with their peers so they could seek help that way. Our plan is to encourage communication and form connections between the students and the teachers.
We want to keep the freshman at Stuyvesant update with the latest policies and events, while also asking for their opinion. We decided that the best way to do this is by having biweekly emails. In these emails you can expect the latest news relating to freshman's and forms to fill out so we can better understand the wants and needs of the student body.
Every two weeks there will be a meeting after school, where we will talk about what we are working on, what we accomplished, and events. But most importantly, you will be able to ask questions and tell us what you think we should be doing.
We are here to unite Stuyvesant by helping the world. I will host an art charity event, where student artists will create art and sell it. The profit made off of the art will be all donated to charity. As a community, we can make a difference, and that's what our campaign stands for.
Stuyvesant has held numerous dodgeball games for the homecoming pep rallies. Why not do that but for freshmen only? Students can form teams of up to ten to compete in a dodgeball tournament. It would simply be a great, fun time for the freshmen!
Watching movies together is a great way to spend time with your friends. Holding online movie nights for freshmen is also a great way to destress, make friends, and have some fun at the end of the day. I know many Stuyvesant students are gamers, as I am myself. As President, I will organize occasional online game nights to give the freshmen a chance to participate in online video and board games. This is some lighthearted fun to help relieve the stress that is oftentimes piled upon the Stuyvesant students.
There is no better way to make memories and have fun than dancing with your friends. We will try our best to have a freshman dance even with the constraints of covid19.
