Congratulations on finding our page, if you're here because you want to vote for us, then hi, you're pretty awesome.  But, if you came here because you don't know who to vote for, or were told by someone to vote for them and by a miracle stumbled upon our page, I would like to convince you to vote for us, so let's get started.

We are different from other tickets due to who we are.  Let's be honest, you probably know that all these candidates are promising the same basic things: fun events that anyone could think of, generic policies that inevitably will not go into effect, and that they are going to make this school so much better than it ever has been.  We propose an alternative to these types of promises.  Sure, having all these events and policies that are in everyone else's campaigns is nice, but we have the means to go beyond that standard.  We have the experience and dedication to follow through with what we say, and beyond our plans for events and policies that would make the school better, we have administrative plans, and know how to run a freshman caucus that works for the students they're representing, and not for the interests of the people in the freshman caucus.

If what we've just said has caught your attention, please read on to learn more, you made it this far after all :)

About Us:

or in other words, our experience in school leadership 💪

Hi, my name is Sienna. In middle school, I’m proud to say that I was on the student council for three years, and appointed to the Executive Committee by my principal in my third year there. I was also spearheading multiple school events, including Spirit Week and No-Name Calling Week (an event to emphasize the impact of bullying on students). My experience as a student leader and ability to create connections with students around me is what sets me apart from other candidates, and combined with Tristan’s acumen for business and work ethic, I believe that we balance each other out to successfully fulfill the roles of Freshman Caucus co-presidents. I am also in the Even Planning department at SU, which would make organizing events for freshmen considerably easier.

Hi, I'm Tristan. After being suggested to run by a friend of mine, I got involved with running for Freshman Caucus and decided I was willing to commit to doing so. From the start, I wanted to focus on transparency and unity, as I felt one of the problems the Freshman caucus inevitably faces is dealing with leaders who are running for personal gain and popularity, rather than wanting to serve the community around them. I want to solve this problem, and I plan to do so. I was on the student council during my time at my middle school, and at study, I've built a reputation of being a good public speaker, being in debate, and participating in all my classes. When I speak I try to be engaging and informative, which is something you want to have in a leader who is meant to represent you and what you want for others.  I'm sure with me and Sienna on the job, the freshman caucus will achieve things never been able to do before.

TL;DR: Basically, we're really cool and you should vote for us.

Uh-oh, time for the boring stuff!

Pillars:

-Fun

-Unity

-Spirit

-Transparency

that's not a word, is it 💀

We want to run an administration based on doing the stuff a student government should do, plus having actual communication with the student body, which is  something that probably should be done in the first place.

Policies:

Administration:

  • -Transparency for the Freshman Caucus
    • -Reasoning why we do things, especially large decisions
    • -Being honest with students about why the school makes the decisions they do, assuming it doesn’t hurt the interest of public safety
  • -No Nepotism, have an integrated administration for Freshman Caucus that allows all students to have a say in what they want to see.
    • -Administration will be broken down into various sectors, allowing people talented in one field to help with the field they’re good at.
-No administration can be run efficiently by just two people, finding people who are qualified to plan and communicate to execute plans is a priority of our administration.
    • -You don't know who our campaign managers are (probably) because we don't advertise them, remember, they aren't who you're voting for, unlike how other tickets make it seem.
  • -Working with the student body to see what they want to do for events.
    • -This would entail having student approval for events and other things that are planned by the Freshman Caucus
    • -Our ideas may be good, but we are not geniuses!  Working with the student body to make events is the best thing for everyone.
  • -Having polls every month for students to judge how the freshman caucus is doing and what they want to see
    • -We're not perfect, and these polls would give us a chance to see what the freshman student body acts to see, and is a great chance to gage what others think of the administration

School:

  • -Make certain services more accessible and add easy-to-understand posters to allow newcomers to give the services a try
    • -For example the writing center, which could have posters outside to make newcomers who might not normally have been so keen on trying it out give it a shot
  • -Making communication among classes easier
    • -Isn't it hard having group chats for your classes run by non standardized means, meaning random people have the power to decide who and who isn't included?
    • -Why not change that, and have an easily accessible group chat for every class, to easily be able to work and ask questions together with your peers.
  • -What would you want to see?
    • -I know this is getting old, but communication with the freshman body will always be one of our most important pillars of administration, and as such I will keep reminding you that no student body can exist without the students
-Because of that, whatever the grade wants to see will always be of great importance to us.

Events:

  • -Monthly hangouts with activities such as movies or games
    • -This would entail working with clubs for scheduling.
    • -These hangouts would optimally be days with limited extracurricular activities, something people don’t have to go out of their way to come to
  • -Christmas Events
    • Christmas is coming up, and as such events like Secret Santa are due to happen!
  • -And more to come:
    • -Wanna see an event you think is really important?  Just ask, we want to make it as easy as possible to communicate what you want to see to us, and make those requests come into reality.
