As Freshman Caucus Co-presidents, we would represent the ideas and opinions of the student body. Every one of us has our own unique perspectives, ideas, interests, and experiences to bring to the table. We want to make sure your perspective is respected and valued in every decision we make.
If we were elected, we would put most of the caucus’s power in the hands of the student body. What would that look like? Under our administration, the student body would be the ones suggesting and voting upon new policies for the freshman caucus to put in place. You will have the opportunity to read more in-depth about this throughout our policies.
Under our leadership, you’ll have regular opportunities to connect with us through forums, surveys, and even open caucus meetings where we can chat about any ideas or issues on your mind. These are especially important to us because we want our policies to reflect the opinions of every freshman, not just those who are politically engaged enough. Reflecting and building upon our policies in person with the freshmen student body is how we hope to develop well-orchestrated policies that everybody agrees in and benefits from.
We want to be the voice of the freshman student body, but we can’t do that without your vote. If you want the power of the freshman caucus to be in the hands of the entire freshman student body, then vote for Daniel Hall and Benjamin Xie for Freshman Caucus 2024-2025. If you want to make the 2024-2025 school year a year worth remembering, then vote for Daniel Hall and Benjamin Xie for Freshman Caucus 2024-2025. No matter what it is you want from the 2024-2025 school year, we’re here to make it happen. We’re committed to respecting the perspectives of all freshmen to make this school year a memorable one. vote Daniel Hall and Benjamin Xie for Freshman Caucus 2024-2025 because we will speak and act on behalf of every member of the Stuy class of 2028.
Weekly Correspondence. We believe proper communication with the student body is important! This is why we want to stay in touch with the student body through weekly newsletters, sent out every Sunday.
Complete Map of Stuy. We hope to be able to work with the SU IT team to create a website that maps out the entire Stuyvesant campus. This website would dynamically update depending on certain events and club meetings that may be happening in different parts of Stuy.
Questions for the Upperclassmen. Do you still have any questions about life at Stuy or high school in general? Is there anything you’re wondering or struggling with that you’re too afraid to ask about?
Collaborative Study Guides. We want to create a system of Google Docs that contains study material and helpful notes on all classes being taken by Stuyvesant freshmen. These study guides would be available from the freshman caucus website. These will be available to be edited by anybody who has a meaningful contribution to make to them.
Study Buddies. Is there a class you’re doing well in that you want to help others do better in too? Maybe there’s a class that you’re not doing so well in that you wish you could get support with. No matter the case, we have good news for you. Most of us are taking the same classes! We can help each other out!
Freshman Dance. What would a student government campaign be without the promise of an incredibly glamorous, super-over-the-top dance? It would be a bad campaign, that’s what it would be! We plan to end the year off with a ✨glamorously✨ themed dance held in the cafeteria in late May or early June.
Monthly Movie Nights. You wanna know what’s fun? Movies! You wanna know what makes them better? Friends! You wanna know what would make them even better? Snacks! We want to allow students a chance to rewind and relax with their friends after school at the end of each month. That’s why we want to start a tradition of monthly movie nights here at Stuy!
Holiday Karaoke. To get Stuy into the holiday spirit, we plan on hosting a holiday karaoke party in the last week before winter recess!
March Talent Show. We understand that Stuyvesant students are incredibly talented and we want to give you a chance to show off those talents! In our March talent show, we hope to have students with a talent to show off pay a small fee of around $5 to show their talent off to their peers.
April Trivia Night. Are you obsessed with wacky and wonderful facts nobody’s ever heard of before? Do you want to prove to your friend group that you’re the skibidi alpha wolf of the group? Do you just want to have something fun to do at the end of April? We hope to host a grade-wide trivia night towards the end of April with an entrance fee of $3.
